Howdy Gang,
I had a Whisper Power Filter (outside of the tank) and decided not to add new fish or plants but to up grade the decor in the tank. Found this WaterWonders ( Inside the tank filter) Whisper Filter (both Tetra products). Both for 10 gal tank. Changed all this on sat w/water change and all readings at ZERO. Today water is a little clouded and tested water and all readings are up. Does the tank have to cycle again??

Yup. But not completely. This cycle should be over in about 10 days since your gravel and even the glass itself have and all your decorations have a layer of bacteria on them.

Now you know why they say never change all your filter media at once, and never change filters abruptly. You just learned the hard way :p

If you can move any of the filter media from the old filters to the new ones, that would greatly speed the recycling process, provided thay have remained wet since the switch. If they have dried out, the bacteria will have died.

Thanks again. I did keep the filter thing w/charcoel in it in the new filter. I had better just leave things alone for awile.
Thanks
