Will my fishless cycle affect my Ph i want it at about 8-8.2 and the tap is about 7.2, and with some buffering gravel in the fiklter it is 9.0
And i think i heard the cycleing may have something to do with it

Any comments?

during a fishless cycle the ionic side effect I experienced was about a .8 drop in PH. However YMMV

well, i think the pH will also depend on what is on the tank. Plants contribute to pH as well, if u have some during cycling. If you're almost done cycling, you may expect a rise in ph because at that point, nitrites are very high and they do act as base in water. Also, some nitrites may combine with H+ in water to make a weak acid.
