For the past few months, my little 5g tank has had cyanobacteria all over it. I've used a turkey baster to blast it off and suck it out... I've done water changes trying to suck it out, nothing worked. It never got very bad until about 2 weeks ago.

Two weeks ago, it reached plague proportions. I couldn't even see the bottom anymore. I was almost ready to give up on that tank, and I know I need to hurry up and set up the larger tank for my clownfish that's in it (it was a temporary setup for him, and now he's starting to outgrow it. Anyway, the cyano was covering everything.... sand, live rock, intake tube, etc. I did a water change and sucked out as much as I could, but it just came right back. Every night that week, I would blast it and suck it out with the turkey baster, and right back it would come.

This morning I woke up and looked at the tank..... SPOTLESS. My sand is gleaming white again, the live rock is covered in nothing but purple coraline, and it's gone from the intake tube and tank walls too. I can't explain it, but something happened overnight last night, and it was wiped out as quickly as it originally appeared and spread.... *shrug* I can't think of anything I've done differently lately, any maintainance I've done, or anything..... it just.... disappeared!

Oh well, what's that saying.... "Don't look a gift horse in the mouth"? I ain't lookin', baby! :D

Did you say a bed time prayer? if you did i will have a go if it is that simple.
