Cuttlefish Bone For Shimp / Snails?

I've recently been adding small bits of cuttlefish to my 2 tanks and the snails and shrimps enjoy munching on it , i read somewhere on the net it was ok but i can't find the link again
Is this really ok for them ???

you mean fresh cuttle fish or the stuff for birds?

sorry yes should have put cuttlefish bone i know they are extremy rich in calcium
 
I did this also when i bred apple snails, im not sure it actually makes a lot of difference, adding kent calcuim is much better, or crushed coral in your filter. di

i get the cuttlefish free at the moment 9lots of broken bits from local fruit and veg shop he sells some pet stuff so i get some for my birds and then thought might aswell put some in with the shrimps and snails :)
