there's another site i go on nowt
to do with fish and i know i copy
and paste links which i think there
is nothing wrong with that but this
other site i go on i find them copying
and pasting stuff and taking credit
for it them selves it gets right
up my nose how do you lot feel about
this practices

I run a website and forum myself, before I took over the running of it the previous owner had made someone he knew staff and she pretty much just copied everything she put on the site from other sites and said it was her work. When I took over the site it took me a month to go through the site and remove everything that she had copied from elsewhere, it really bugs me when people do this.

TBH I don't see the reason for a poll for this question. Most people will vote 'no' anyway

to be honest how many people copy and paste and claim its their work?

not enough to worry about

I have no objection to people copying and pasting stuff so long as they say where it's from.

that's the thing there not
its so easy to trace as well
high light then google it and it
normally tells the places it comes from

I know; there is a fairly long sticky post on this forum which is identical to a fairly long sticky post on another forum I use too (the other forum was dated first). However the person who posted them might in fact be the same person but with different user names but I can't tell that

Plagiarism is a massive problem for many Universities and when i was a Uni, they had just installed this multi million pound peice of software to detect plagiarism. If you are ever warey of a posters claims or you feel you may have read something before, a cheaper way of seeing is actually a simple copy and paste into Google and it will either will/won't churn up the item. Much cheaper than buying the software!

but i don't agree with it, at all!
