My LFS has some catfish that they are calling Custard Cats. I can't get down there for a couple more weeks to investigate, but I'm curious that I can't find them on the net anywhere so this is obviously not their proper name and wonder if anyone knows. They are a typical catfish look with the flat mouths and barbels, but they are a sort of blush custard colour and very active, shoaling and beautiful and in LFS only about 2-3" at the MOMENT.

Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions what they may be?

Possibly Ameiurus natalis?

Well custard is yellow and they dont come much more yellow then the Yellow Catfish :) Fraid you'll either have to go back and ask or try to be more specific.

*Edit*

Yellow with a flat head, best I can do im afraid.

My mistake, haven't seen them in such a long while I forgot what they were like. They are synodontis catfish, some form of colourless version

look like a colour variation of the featherfin syno

Yep could be right there, haven't seen them hang upside down yet

Im going with the variation, i wouldnt rely on the 'upside down' idea too much, somone I know has one which is rarely/never upside down.
