Curious as to what other hobbies you guys have ?

My setup is as follows.
80mm Explore Scientfic APO triplet telescope.
A Skywatcher EQ3 pro Synscan mount attached to a Skywatcher EQ5 steel tripod.
A Canon 60D DSLR attached to the scope with some extension tubes in order to achieve focus and I use a bahtinov mask to get perfect focus.
The camera contains an Astronomik light pollution clip in filter.
A large car starter battery is used for powering the mount.

Here are a few of my pics all taken using 90second subs, dark frames, bias frames and flat frames. The number of subs varies given the target but I usually aim to take around 75 frames minimum and sometimes many more.

If you're referring to the last picture in my post, then it's the Andromeda galaxy(M31). Also visible in the picture are 2 of Andromeda's satellite companions M110(upper left) and M32(mid right). It's distance is 2.5 million light years. The Andromeda galaxy will one day collide with our Milky Way galaxy in around 4.5 billion years time.

Can you remind me why s the sky dark at night when there are so many stars?
 
Because the stars other than our Sun are so very far away lol. The nearest star being Proxima Centuri at 4.2 light years distance.

But that still doesnt make sense, if so many are filling the sky you should still see them everywhere you look.
 
You can still see them depending on local light pollution etc.

If you're at a very dark(astronomical dark site)site for example, you'll be able to see many more stars than you would from a city due to light pollution.

The planet Venus is so bright with a magnitude of -4.64 at times depending on the clarity of our atmosphere it can actually cast a very subtle shadow. But, the brightest star which is Sirius is so far away 8.611 light years, that even though it has a magnitude of -1.46 would not cast an observable shadow to the human eye.

The Moon has a magnitude of approximately -12 and the Sun's magnitude is approximately -28.

If you have really good eyesight, then from a dark location you should be able to see stars down to magnitude +6 or +7.

I just went turkey hunting a few days ago. I got a 20+ pounder. :)

I go outside to se the yearly metear shower, its like november time? Its called like plasoids or something, defintiely got a P at the beginning.
