Cured Live Rock

i am purchasing fully cured live rock off a member on this forum sometime this weekend or next, depending on my work schedule.

I plan to use it for my upgrade tank, I will be transporting it in the water it is currently in and its only 20mins travel time to get it back to mine where it will get heat and flow again.

I have a setup currently that will hold and want to add it to that until new tank arrives to keep it in top condition, I will hold it in the travelling container for a week doing parameter tests but can anyone see any problems with my plan?

I cannot store it seperate from my current setup for too long because of space restrictions, it was such a great deal for 40kg of live rock local to me that i couldnt pass it up.

If you heat the water and provide some water movement, it should not be a problem.

yes it will be heated and have powerheads in there too. I dont want to place straight into the current display tank incase of some die off in the 20mins home

To be honest if you are transporting it in water and only for 20mins there will be little if any die off at all

true forgot about that (lack of sleep brain not running on all cylinders) and current tank would accomodate that in its filtration system anyway.

ive heard up to 50% of life dies off after being out of water for 5seconds.
