Fish Fanatic
Today I was moving my baby bettas to their new temporary homes and as I was taking them out I noticed that two of them were obviously runts and they did not look healthy in general. I had heard at a betta sellers web site that he uses bleach to cull his fish if necesary. I certainly would never think of doing this to a fish that could be helped but these fish were obviously at a genetic disadvantage and would not do well on their own.
So with some hesitation I dumped the 2 into a cup of bleach. I don't know about the other methods but they died instantly and did not seem to suffer. So I just wanted to offer that while I have not tested this on any full grown fish (thankfully) that when it comes to euthanasia this method seemed quick.
I am sure now I will hear it from all sides but this is just an opinion on euthanasia when needed not an invite to try it out on fish you don't have room for etc...
