Hey all,

I'm used to fish liking/disliking food no prob.

But my courgette loving BN thoroughly HATES broccoli, to the extent that she did territorial displays all round it for hours! lol.

I removed it after 24hours untouched.

Trying apple today, as courgette has become hard to get hold of at present.

HA HA! awesome :) straight on it :)

ha havnt tried broccoli and dont plan to after reading this ha but courgette is the favorite for my bristlenose no doubt about it !!

My bn:s and other plecos veery favorite is watermelon! But it's a treat, not something I give even every week. :D

You shouldn't disregard any vegetable or fruit until you've tried it with your own fish. I've found that broccoli is probably the second favourite vegetable of my plecs (mostly Panaque nigrolineatus and armbrusteri - 'Royal plecs'), with sweet potato being their unanimous favourite.

What I've found is that they don't like the waxy skin of broccoli but relish the softer core. So with a thick stem of broccoli I cut of the 'branches' and remove the waxy skin, exposing the core. Cutting the stem down the middle will also expose the soft core, making it much more palatable.

ive tried potato with mine and they had a wee nibble but not much but i havnt tried sweet potato next :look:
