hi guys, does anyone here have a good clear picture of a female crowntail? becuase i have a feamel and i think she's a crowntail but i can't really tell. Her tail fins do come to crowns, but i dont' see the same going on with her anal fins.

that's NOT my betta, but a pic i foiudn on the net, my betta looks almost identical finnage wise, can you consider that as a crowntail female? Note that her anal fins don't "crown" out.

she looks like she could be! Maybe a Ct and Vt mix?

She's a CT, double ray. Looks like she may have something else in her though.

another thing. females dont really have long crowns on the anel fins and on the dorsal fin.

Well at least none of mine did.

The fins and tail look very much like one of my CT females and I believe she is a HM cross.I got her as a freebie on an aquabid auction I won and didn't get much info about her.But everything the seller had on auction was HM/CT so I think she is as well. They are pretty fish

Koda

not necessarily. i have vt females with little "crowns" on their fins.
im thinking that one in the pic is though because of the double rays.
there are different types of crowns though.

heres a pic of one of my ct females.

the pic is crappy but it shows her crowns. (her fins are uneven from multiple spawnings :/ )

yeah i think she is a crowntail as all my female bettas that i believe to be crowntails only have it on thier tail fins.

The picture you showed jacs is a very nice crowntail female  So i just crossed a female that loosk like the one i posted (but she's blue and red) with a blue/red ct.

will i get crowntails or combtails?

her tail deffinitly looks crown. Her anal and dorsal seem combed, but she is probably most likely a crown tail.

well if she looks like a cross then she would have the genes of both if she is there for you may get a a little from column a (straight crown) a little from column b (comb crown)
