So perdy eh? :D

I was wondering if crowntails are harder breding then anyother kind of bettas. I really  crowntails. Deffinatly the black ones with steel blue on them :hey:

Hi Danno,

There is actually no difference. Like bettas of other caudal forms (e.g. half moons), attention need to be paid in the selection of the desired pair (i.e. with the right colour and finnage) to get the desired type of offsprings. Hope this answers you question. :)

Personally, I love red double-ray (DR) crown tails and double-double-ray (DDR) crown tails.

Is it true that CTs are more aggressive? I just remember reading it somewhere. Reds as well.

I've had aggressive CTs that move towards the direction of the opponent, flaring like crazy, and I've had CTs who would just move the other way, refusing to flare.

So, I think their behaviour is similar to the other fancy tail bettas that are bred for aesthetic reasons (i.e. nice colour & finnage).

The short tail bettas that are specially bred for the purpose of fighting (e.g. sharper bite and longer body) are definitely more aggressive.
