I have a crowntail male, I think hes really pretty. I just wanted to know what color he would be classified as and would he be considered breeding quality? I don't know how well you'll be able to see in the pics but his fins go from red to black with white tips. The pics are also a few weeks old, his rays have lengthed since then. Please let me know!! :D

Well I can tell you he's really red, and butterfly I think (it's either butterfly or turquoise color). So I'd personally say no, unless you can find a female just like him.

he looks like a red and cellophane butterfly to me. is the top of his dorsal clear as well? if so, that is a really nicely patterned butterfly!!

i don't see any turquoise, it looks more like some irridescence in the scales to me...

where did you get him from? a breeder? a pet store? the biggest problem with breeding petstore bettas is that you don't know the stock that he came from and what genes he may/may not carry, so you won't know how true he will breed!

you might be better off buying a breeding pair from a breeder, especially if you are looking for something specific in offspring...
