I have a pair of guppies and a pair of platies and i was wondering if they could crossbreed?

I very much dought that they are going to cross breed and even if they did i would imagine that the babies would die because they would be deformed but apart from that i dont think so.

Well it is possible but like Guppy Mad said...if it occurs firstly the fry will be infertile and yes they probably will be deformed. Hopefully they will keep to themselves ;) however don't forget you should have a 2 female : 1 male relationship with your fish. :D

I only have a pair1 female and 1 male of each should i get another female of each.

You probably should get another female guppy and a female platy. The males tend to constantly chase the females around trying to mate. So, having more females lowers the stress on them being constantly chased. If there is only one they can sometimes be harassed to death by the males.
