Crickets?

I got my little GSP babies, they are about 1.5" what other crunchy foods besides little snails could they have, being so small? I've read that small crickets work, have you guys ever fed them these?

I just fed them there first meal at home, blood worms I couldn't believe how nuts they went for them, I didn't actually see them go in there mouth just alot of darting around and the worms were gone.

Crickets float. some puffers dont like to feed off of the surface of the water. Can't hurt to try though mabey you could craft them little tiny cement shoes.

I tried crickets with my Dragon Puffers, but as opcn says, they don't like feeding off the surface.

Once the fish are tame enough to be hand fed, I'm sure they'll take crickets held for them underwater.

my puffers will eat anything anywhere. most of their food floats on top of the water, and they eat it just fine!

they actually search the top of the water for food. sometimes there is food stuck to the sides of the tank, just above the water line, and they will even jump out of the water to try and eat it

i have placed some insects in the tank, mainly for my archer, but the puffers always get there first.

i dont know how "healthy" a cricket is for a puffer, but if you're sure the crickets are safe, then give it a go

Just to update, I got two of the smallest crickets for my puffers and they hunted them down and seemed to enjoy them a whole lot (it was brutal to watch, hades bit his in half).

My puffers loved them, I read there good for protein and amino acids, but to only feed them now and then and of course rely on the more meaty foods.

I sometimes get mad that there is a peice of brineshrimp on the surface, because my puffer NEVER goes to the top to feed. Close, but not to the surface. By the way, not to break your thread, but you've fed your puffers snails already?

Yes, the LFS gave me 5 small ones for free I fed them the two smallest and left the three for breeding.

Hmm my puffers seem to have no problem eating from the surface, they charged the crickets right away.
