Yo guys im getting my first reptiles. 3 young crested geckos. Does anyone else keep these guy and/or have any care tips?

Thanks

Cool...I love cresties.I haven't kept any persay but looked after some in a reptile shop. Are you going to keep the 3 together? Since if it turns out you have males you might have some trouble there.
They like temps around room temp...So in the summer you must make sure their viv doesn't overheat, or else there's a risk they'll
die.Check out captivebred.co.uk - great friendly forum, or reptilesforums.co.uk, as I'm sure you will get much more advice there.
Reptile keeping is even more addicted than fishkeeping.

Yep they are still very young so I'm going to keep them together initially until I can sex them. I'm hoping to get pair and breed them. Thanks for the links, I've already joined reptile forums.

Cool, sounds like you know what you're doing.
Good luck

I got my geckos yesterday, they are the coolest little things ever. Heres a pic I snapped of one of them before I let them get settled into their new home (also pictured).

Alright mate. I had read that but apparently its frowned upon now as baby foods are too high in sugar. I have crested gecko diet(CGD) and I've also fed them pureed banana and mango as well as small crickets.

Nah its just a small viv for now (18" high I think) and its already pretty full with the vines and fake plants(and now a live spider plant planted in the coconut). Cheers though.

You're not to late Chester.... Where it was nominated in February, and only seconded in March, it now qualifies for entry into the seconded month, March 2010 POTM competition and may be moved over to March POTM nominations pinned thread.

Hey T

banana isnt something you want to feed often or really much at all, You would be better getting them onto crestie 2 part diet asap. It contains all the nutrients and vitamins required.

You can get 100% pure fruit baby food which ive used in the past but if you do use it mix it with the 2 part diet.

Yeah man im feeding them the CGD with only the fruit as a treat. How come I shouldnt feed banana? The reptile forum people said its fine and that it causing constipation is a myth. To be honest mine seem to be thriving on a mostly insect diet now though I always make sure they have CGD.

That is such an amazing animal.. how do you look after it? requirments etc etc :hyper:
