Crazed aggressive female ram

my female ram kept attacking my male ram and i think nipped his right pelvic fin until its now flipped up and cant open anymore... i put her in a small 'cave' at the corner of the tank where she cant come out for the time being. she does not attack the cories or the oto but only attacks the male ram. what should i do? i think she wanna breed cuz her belly is pinkish but she's only above 1" long. the guy at the shop said when mature the female very aggressive and if the male is weak... too bad... i din know what he meant until now

Might have to exchange her. Sometimes males and females just don't like each other. Sounds like from your post that it isn't going to get any better so I would either take one or the other back or take the female back and get another female.
