I am seeing some really cool crayfish on Aquabid, and the electric blue ones are shocking (lame pun intended). What do they eat, what fish would they eat, and how large and agressive are they?
well Cray are scavengers so will eat most things, though mine likes fresh chicken and peas, though she will collect flake. the size depends on the specise, but from 4" to over 12" covers most. they are quite capable of catching fish, and eating them. that said i keep mine in a community tank, with no problems so far. the thing is to put a fairly mature Cray in, young Crays will not fair well in a tank with other fish, and it may cause them to take revenge, later.I am seeing some really cool crayfish on Aquabid, and the electric blue ones are shocking (lame pun intended). Procambarus Alleni reach 15-20cm. incidentaly the blue colour is not a type of lobster or Cray, it is in fact a genetic defect, found in both creatures. My science teacher last year had a saltwater lobster he caught himself and, although they had some tattered fins, the minnows he caught and put in the same tank were never eaten. How big would the ones on Aquabid, like the electric blues, get?
Electric Blues
Oranges
Dwarves
all colours go on cooking!!!!! they all look brick red.Yeah, I knew it was a color morph. Same with the oranges. They looked like they've been cooked!
my albino cory is about 1&1/4" got a couple of small glasscats. no problems.I meant like a cooked lobster. What's the smallest fish a crayfish could be kept with?
