Any smaller species (not the dwarf cpo's or dwarf cajun crays) that would be suitable for a well aquascaped 10 gallon? I know its a tad on small side but id rather use my 20 gallon for an amazonian biotype with GBR. So if anyone has any species reccomendations that would be geat!

10g will be fine for, almost, any North American crayfish. its the recommended tank size. where are you located (country)?

Im in the US so the common clarki and alleni species ae always available in the blue, red, and white colorforms..... im wondering if a single red claw crayfish would work too....you know the males who have the splash of red on their claws otherwise blue?

.you know the males who have the spash of red on their clawsotherwise blue?

yes i do, i told you in the other thread. but 10g is too small for a Quad. but your N American crays will be fine.

also, they are not, always blue. high uv will help. but shades from green to vivid blue can be seen in quads.

Another option i was thinking about is one of those self cloning marbled crayfish. I think ill heed your advice and look into one of the US species...hmmmm now which one is the question hahaha... Just got to make sure of the species i get so i know what temperature to keep the water!

take care there. they breed a sexually. you buy one and get hundreds of clones. they are also, known, carriers of crayfish plague. though, to be fair, that's true of many. of the North American crays. as a 'payback' those that dont carry, are resistant to some extent.

what's more of a problem, with them, is the fact they were discovered in a German aquarium?????????????? so there is more than a wiff, of human intervention. though no clear evidence.

personally i think they are monstrous. and, possibly, pose the greatest threat to native crayfish, since the US exported crayfish plague, to the rest of the world.
