I have acquired a new 10 gallon tank that, once cycled, will house a crayfish of some variety. I have another tank in which I am keeping an assortment of shrimp, but is mainly a semi-aggressive fish tank and the shrimp could thus be more confident. I was thinking of throwing them in the tank with the cray with lots of hiding places and moss, hornwort etc. I've heard varying accounts on how well crays get along with others, so I was wondering if you marvelous people had any insight.

Long story short: can you keep shrimp (and even breed them) successfully in a tank with a crayfish?

Crayfish are opportunistic feeders and will eat plant matter and shrimp that they can catch. Would Expect the shrimp to be especially vulnerable during moulting.
My expieriences with crayfish having caught hundreds and sold them to bait shops, has shown that they will fight with each other if territories are infringed upon and larger tank rather than smaller would be needed in my opinion if more than two or three crayfish were to be kept in same tank. IMHO
