Ok, a logn time ago i was getting some plants for my pond habitat in my room that i had some pond snails and a few crawdads in. they were just babies. they eventually, after a long while died. it wasn't because of the thing they were in, it was exact pond habitat and everything they were in. i checked the water and kept them very healthy. died of natural causes. anyway, a slightly bigger crawdad came with the plants that i didn't see. he is the one that made it. as my pond habitat died out, small creatures started to multiply and now i have many white and black specks growing in there. they seem to be some type of plankton type thing but from a pond. i got the crawdad out and he has his own 10 gallon with a few of my miniature bass minnows and 1 full grown rosy that i got when it was just tiny. the crawdad is about 2 or so inches long now!

he is i'd say around 5 or more months old now and he is very healthy. he has red at the tip of his claws. i'm going to collect crawdads and frogs and stuff to sell with puddle inc from a natural pond my dad owns. should i get another small crawdad to put in with him/her or will she/he be happy with just fish in his/her tank?

he/she has some java moss and lots of shells in one corner that he calls home. anyone else had a wild crawdad before that could give there tips? what did yours like to eat? mine just eats dead stuff and fish food.

any treats anyone knows of that i could feed him? i've had him for a while and he has grown and he is probably the best wild pet i've ever had. i just thought i would take some tiem to ask how i could spoil him

thanks in advance! :good:

a pic would help! i can only think of 2 cray with red tips to their claws. the australian redclaw, only the male has them, and then only on the outside pincer

the other is the orange fingered yabby and has tips on both sections of the claw. both are australian, i take it your from the USA. your are unlikley to find a redclaw, but i doubt you would find an orange finger too.

as for food most cray will eat anything, so chicken, veg, sea food and any fish food. but lean toward the veg till we id it.
