Hi All

I have a spare 2ft tank but have noticed that there is a crack in the corner, it looks as if something has fallen on to the base and there is a chip and the 3 cracks coming from it. I think that the cracks are all the way through the glass, as I can feel them either side of glass.

Do you think I maybe able to repair, if I patched up with silicone or do you think just better to go buy new tank and not waste the time doing anything?

Thanks
Dave

Dave i wouldnt bother repairing it, buy a new tank but transfer like 75% of ur mature water to the new tank saves u the time for fishless cycle. Imagine if the tank one day fully cracks .... hate to start all from begining :)

Agree it doesn't sound good and probably best replaced. In my opinion there's no need to transfer any of the old water. As long as you keep your filter intact (the beneficial bacteria reside/colonise in there, not the water) and transfer that over at the very last minute - so don't leave your old filter off for more than an hour or so.

Thanks for the advice guys.

Its empty anyway, was an old tank that was sitting in the shed. Thought i might be able to repair.

Oh well will just have to buy new one.
