Hi all

I have a 'trap pest' trap to catch some unwanted crabs in my aquarium, I was wondering what is the best bait to use in it ?

I was thinking about a prawn or something but if i leave it in the tank over night will it cause a rise in amomonia/nitrate/nitrite ?

cats & council workers make good crab bait :)

anything meat based is fine. Try to use something that is tough, ie: squid or octopus. It is harder for the crabs to pull it away from the trap. Prawn or fish will work as well.

Use a small piece and leave it in for an hour after lights out. You usually catch something within a short period of time after the lights have gone out because the crabs will be hungry after hiding all day.
