Heya Guys.. sorry to be a pain and keep asking questions but i've got a few more!!

- How much Aragonite sand would I need in lb for a 30UK Gallon tank? Or is there no way of working it out?
- Will 2 T8 lighting tubes be OK for live rock?
- Anyone got a spare £200 lying around? LOL  (don't worry, i'll pay back your postage) He he

Cheers

That depends on how much you want. Some people have their tanks barebottom, no sand at all. Others keep at lease 4" of sand and ten there is all thats in between... First try to find out how deep you want your sandbed to be, than its quite easy to calculate how much sand you will need.

Hi

Try this link for working out substrate quanitiy it is fairly accurate.

From what I understand T8's will be fine for LR but you will need to upgrade if you plan on any corals.

And no, I don't have a spare £200 at the moment and if I did I would be buying a new tank so :p

Thanks for the link JaminRat but it didn't work

I want about 2-3" of Aragonite sand in a 30 Gallon...

EDIT - I have found a substrate calculator and it says I need 62lb of SILICA sand... is that silimar to Aragonite sand?
EDIT 2 - Just found a calculator for aragonite sand and it comes out at 40lb... thanks! Kinda a pain though seeing as each bag is 30lb!! Means i'm gonna have to buy another bag and only use a small amount of it!

Cheers

EDIT 3 - also is sand a good deal and ok for FOWLR

I never bother with as much sand as 2-3". The best guidance I have seen is up to an inch, or more than 6 (if you want to do a DSB)

I have a 1" bed

No probs for my Ceriths, Conch or Sandsifter

I would not go over 2" :good:

40lbs, yikes thats a lot of sand. I'd just go with one 30lb bag, should be the right amount ;)

yeah easy, I used less than half of a 30lb on my 30G - that took me upto about 1cm-ish guess it depends on how much rock you have and how you have layed it out.
