coupla questions

okay is ammonia toxic when it gets to 0.5 or is it 5.0??

and for untanninizing driftwood can you use baking soda?? would it be toxic to fish?? if i did soak it in baking soda how would you get it out?

Any ammonia is toxic. It's just some fish are more sensitive than others.

To remove tannin, just soak the wood in water. Most of it will leak. If it still leaks in the tank, just keep changing the carbon. The tanin will eventually be removed. I never heard of baking soda doing it.
