Hi,
Hope that you can help here! I have two Ryukin Goldfish, we came back from a holiday a few weeks ago the next day discovered three baby goldfish in the tank, we moved the babies to their own tank and they are doing very well.
This morning the larger fish was chasing the smaller fish very vigorously, pushing against the tummy and sticking the head between the fins, trapping in the corner, I've had them for 2 1/2 years and never seen them fighting before. They don't seem to be biting the fins or anything like that. I put a little food in the tank which is when I became very worried, the large fish who is the greediest goldfish in the world was more interested in chasing the other than food. Is it possible that they are spawning again so soon? The best description I can find for their behaviour on the internet is spawning.
I've put a divider in to the tank to seperate them, the smaller goldfish is having a rest and the larger one is still quite excited. Should I just leave them to get on with it?
Any advice much appreciated as I am a novice fish keeper and a bit worried!
Thank you,
Margaret
