I'm going to be getting rid of my two 2 1/2g tanks, and putting a 10g in their place. I'm sure the fish would love some extra swimming room. ^_^

But anyway, is there any thing I could put on each side of the divider?

I already have another community 10g, but it's not split. Everyone gets along so nicely. ^_^

Well....At least because the Cories hide all day, the betta can't really do anything to them. lol. And he chases the gold fish around here and there, but only when he's in a bad mood or bored. Otherwise, they get on great.

ANYWAY....So, a 10g divided by two....What to do...

Or should I leave it betta-only? It's already betta-only so it wouldn't bother me none. ^_^

Oh gosh. All my baby snails are in one of those tanks. :( I'll have to find something to do with them....I guess I'll just have to flush them all.

im a little confused!
but here goes

so are you getting a new 10gallon and dividing it for two bettas?
well why dont you divide it and get 4

and do you have another 10gal communtiy with a betta an goldfish?
:dunno:

"so are you getting a new 10gallon and dividing it for two bettas?

I'm getting rid of two small tanks and putting a 10g in their place. I will divide the 10g and put the two betta's that were in the small tanks into the 10g.

"and do you have another 10gal communtiy with a betta an goldfish?"

Yeuh huh.

I know they can live with the betta silly. :p

In fact, I have a few hundred living with my gal in her 5g. Not sure where they keep coming from, but they're all welcome. :D

I mean, I just don't feel like scraping them all off the sides of the tank they're in just to rehome them...I'd just assume flush em, and when some of the snails in the 5g get bigger I could put those in the new 10g tank. ^_^

oh ok i think i understand now :D

yeah it sounds good but you still could divie the 10gal into 4 :kana: and have 4 bettas! :p

i dont think bettas can live with goldfish though........
goldfish are coldwater and bettas are tropical.
also goldies eat anything that will fit into their mouths

and goldfish need a biger tank than 10gallons :dunno:

Haha. I'd love to have four betta's, but I /think/ that if I did that I'd be taking room away from them?

Wait no, I just figured out they'd have the same amount of room. hehe. But yeah, That would mean more money on dividers. I can't afford it. :p

Goldfish naturally live in the cold, but he's dandy with my betta's heated tank. ^_^
And the food thing- Yeah...I make sure he's always full up.

I think the 10g I have him in now is much better than what he was going to be in...

I bought it as a feeder...He didn't get ate for a couple days, and I just loved his cool colors, so I figured I'd keep him. ^_^

He's not an average goldfish....He's one of those ugly ones that they sell for 12 cents.

I'm not sure if they get the same size though. -shrug-

Well, I'm not going to talk about the goldy anymore. It's either my tank or the belly of my sunfish. -shrug-

But this is about wether or not I could put anything in the divided 10g....

There is one more thing I could do, but it would rule out the community idea.

Ok, I have 3 small tanks. But I was thinking about getting rid of two to put into one.

I guess I /could/ put all three of them in there...I'm not too sure I'd like the way that would look though. I think the more open a tank is, the better it looks.

I just went and got a measuring tape, and realised that another 10g would just /barely/ fit in between my 5g and 10g. :S

I should probably go do some more measuring, and clean up my dresser some more before I jump into anything, huh?

Welp, I got the disguisting 10g from my bfs house (nearly ruined with HUGE watermarks) and gave the thing a good scrubbing, and it looks GREAT.

I forgot he already had a divider for his tank, so I'm just using the one he had. Went out and bought some small white rock gravel.

Normally I'd go with color, but heres what I want to do-

You can put 2 light bulbs in a 10g hood. So I want one side to be pink and one side to be blue. I tried this before, but it doesn't work too great with colored rocks. :(

So now I'm going to do it with a divided 10g with white rocks!

And I'm also going to try and put plants in it. Not sure where I'd put them...But I'll figure something out. :p Most likely I'll use that easy-care plant whatever it is...Java fern or something? -shrug-

I'm going to avoid decor for the time being. Might get some kind of rock/log to plant the plants in.

If anyone has some good decoration tips, I'd really appreciate it. This should be my best looking tank in my room so far if things go right. ^_^
