I have a 2.5 gallon tank and a 1.5 gallon tank. Could I keep dwarf or clawed frogs in one of these tanks? The other would be my hospital tank. How many can I keep? What do I feed the frogs? Are they extremely sensitive to water quality? How should I set up the tank decor? Do they need a lot of plants? What kind of plants? If I have a male and a female will they breed? Are the tadpoles easy to care for?

Sadly for me,although I work in miles, pints and feet...for some reason, tanks are in litres for me....

So yours are about 6 and 8 litres? Don't see why you couldn't have a couple of dwarfs in there.. Got filter, heater,I take it? I used to keep 3 frogs in one of those small hexagonal tanks, they were quite happy...
Never heard of them breeding in captivity, but you never know.Mine liked any live foods, bloodworm, daphnia etc but frozen works too.... Good luck!

ps,water quality as you would for fish..no specific decor or plants, but if you half fill it,a bit of bogwood will give them a perch to bbreathe..

Ok...lots of questions and unfortunately you are not going to like the answers

1.5 gallon - neither species.

2.5 gallon - acceptable for ONE african DWARF frog.

African clawed frogs need a minimum of 10 gallons for one frog - so these are out of the equation.

ok...so the 2.5 gallon for ONE African Dwarf frog. You feed them HBH frog and tadpole bites as the main part of their diet and give them a little treat of frozen bloodworms once a week. ADF are much more sensitive to water quality compared to ACF and need a properly cycled tank and be diligent about water changes.
The decor should be - a bare bottom or sand bottom tank, lots of hiding places, and lots of silk plants. These are very skittish frogs by nature and become less shy if they know there are lots of hiding places nearby. You can not have two frogs in this tank - and definitely not consider breeding in this small of a tank. They are semi-easy to breed but the tadpoles are difficult to raise as they need live food cultured daily and extremely specific water conditions.
