Could Anyone Please Help Id This Gold-spotted Plec

Picked up a tank with Malawi Cichlids in it today.........it also had a gold-spotted plec in it........any ideas on an ID?

He/she is a handsome fish......about 4 inches long.....and probably about 18 months old.

Your description basically named him, he's a gold spot aka L001:

Should be bigger than that at 18 months old, at least heading for 10". Could be because of the alkaline water, plecs dont suit malawi tanks very well - while they can "cope" with it, they wont thrive in it.

I am not too sure how old he is..........as he came with the tank......I am going to put him across to my Oscar tank and I will see how he gets on........(the oscar is still only small).

He should be fine in with an oscar - L001's are known for being a little *ahem* feisty, so no doubt he wont take any crap from the O
