Could Anyone Identify My Catfish

Hi guys ive been into fish for along time and i seem to pitty large fish in small tanks. I saw this catfish at my local fish shop and I felt sorry for it in a very small tank. I brought it for 4 pounds about 2 months ago. It is about 6-7 inchs long and when it flaires it dorsal fin its about 4 inches high no joke. Hes a pretty little tear away i just want to know what he is so any help will be very much appreciated cheers guys and gals. Ive named him buster

It's a synodontis catfish of some sort. Sorry I don't know the species name but I do know that they are from Africa.

He is more of a buster lol, To me he looks like an upside down catfish but he doesnt swim upside down and is far to big, He brings real character to the tank

i have one myself, althiugh through old age he has lost his spots and has many battle scars! his former owner had him 10 years the owner before them had him two and ive had him a year so he's pushing 13yrs round about!

scotty i could only guess how long he is! he doesnt sit still long enough to be measured. my largest oscar is 22cm and he's roughly the same length as him?

Mine was lyeing againsts the glass he is about 19 cm
