Im looking to get a water pump to make water changes a bit easier. Currently i have to lug a 2gal bucket up and down the stairs a million times. Rather than get a bigger bucket, i feel like running a hose to my drain and having a water pump would be waaaaay easier. I only really need 100-200gph. Ive seen power heads in petstores but is there anything cheaper that will do the job in a hardware store? Any name brands you guys like? Thanks!

Well, there are pond feature pumps, these are generally much cheaper than aquarium grade stuff.

And, there are the condensator pumps used in combi boilers, they are pretty cheap...

i used to work in a pond store and like the person above i would go for a pond pond. far cheaper you can pick up a hozelock casecade or oase pump. these two pump brands are at opposite ends of the spectrum hozelock generally being cheap and oase being xpensiv ime i would go with oase, far less rturns and you should get a five year warranty? it does depend on which pump model.

For easier water changes is a pump the way to go? Ive seen long siphon hoses labeled "water changers" that look like they make it pretty easy to change water with. Theyr semi expensive though, like 30 something dollars. Could i buy a small pump and a hose for that?
