Hi, can anyone give me advice as to what is wrong with my corys :/ . i have 3 albino and 3 bronze, the 3 albino have today developed a dark tummy and are slightly bloated. there is no sign of raised scales so does that mean its not dropsy? i've just had a breakout of white spot and am treating it with Britsh King WS3 :-(

Need water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.
It sounds like a bacterial infection they can darken in colour.
Bacterial med and some shelled frozen peas.

ph = 7.5, ammonia = 2.4, nitrate = 50, nitrite = 1.6.

i have been having trouble keeping nitrate down lately. ive been doing lots of 15% water changes because of the white spot. the corys are still as active as always and are eating well

Stats are bad an immediate water change.
How long has the tank been set up.
How many gallons or litres is the tank.
How many fish and which type.

Hi the tank has been set up for about a month and a half, the tank holds 190L
we have
5 lemon tetra
5 cardinal tetra
1 pregnant guppy
6 corys,
1 siamese fighter
6 swordtails

after the stat reading i did a 30% water change and in desperation i took my cory to a shop (a good one) for them to have a look he said the colouration was due to waste and told me to do another water change and not to feed them for 2 days he said the cory looked really healthy, i thought they were on their way out!!

Black patches are ammonia burns that are healing.

Do you have sand or gravel? I used to have blue sand in my tank and the albino cories seemed to hoover up the sand with any food they found. This resulted in dark, bluish colour tummies and also blue, sandy poo. Never seemed to do them any harm though. Just a thought. :good:
