Corys Swimming Habits

I bought some sterbai corys a little over a week ago and I've noticed 2 of them are always swimming closer to the top of the water and they come down to eat and scavenge. Why would they do this? THe tank is cycled and at good levels. There is also an airstone.

someone in another thread said they go to the top to gulp air and that helps them with digestion...im not sure which thread it was...

They usually take quick trips to the top for gulps of air but these stay at the top most of the time...near to the heater, the water is at 79-80
