Corys Spitting Food From Their Gills.

I was watching my corys and one chewed on a flake but then spit it out through their gills. Do they always do that? Also I bought Omega one shrimp pellets to eat should I buy anything else?

Yeah mines do that with some stuff, like gravel or sand they sift through it. If it's an algae wafer, peas or brine shrimp however-they doesn't get spat out lol

All Corys do this, they filter tiny particles of food from the sand. Sometimes a whole flake is too big so they swallow what they can and the rest comes out the gills with any sand thats picked up. Bigger stuff will just be "hoovered" straight down.
