I am looking to add some corys to my tank, i have sand substrate. The PH in my tank is around 8 so i don't know if this could limit my choice? i don't want any what grow more than a couple of inches. Any opinions out there??
Thanks

Mmm, yes most cories prefer water with a lower pH. Your best bets would be the paleatus and the aeneus. These are the hardiest cories. Pandas have also been bred in harder water. The best thing would be to go to a good lfs in your neighbourhood which has the same water characteristics and see which ones they carry.

Thanks for the reply, i do like the look of the Pandas, i will do some research. Also seen the leopard Cory's, they look nice and look like they will tolerate higher PH. Anyone ever had these?

I love my panda and bronze cories, they are really nice, bronze survive to a mini cycle when introduce to the tank, 6 guppy and 2 glofish died in this procces, but none of the bronze cory.

i think the most important thing is water quality, you should ask Harlequins she has loads of corys and as far as i'm aware runs high PH around 8. No harm asking

I'm keeping 6 Sterbai Cory with a PH of 7.6-8 with success, no issues in month or 2 that I have had them.

all of my tanks are 7.6ph.
my bronze corys are doing great they even lay eggs often.
also the cory fry are doing great in 7.6 ph

+1
3 Sterbai Corrys in a tank with 7.6 PH for at least 6 months now.
All doing fine :good:

Great news, with so many doing well at a high Ph my options are starting to open up.

I plan to stock 6 corys in my 125L tank but I haven't decided which type yet.

if you can afford it gold corys
i recon you should have a bigger group as they are more fun to watch.

soon i will put 15 bronze/albino as i have no idea which they will turn out 2 be. but i think i got some of each

Well with what I plan to stock, I will have plenty of room for more. :D

I could have 6 of one type and 6 of another. :)

they are fairly easy to breed aswell, if u want to give it a go
