I set up a tank with sand, it looked very nice. I put my 6 corys in there and within 10 minutes the place was wrecked. You can see about 2 inches into the tank now because the sand has been moved so much. Are they going to be ok with so much sand floating in the water?

they will be fine, water in the wild isn't cyrstal clear.

TBH, it sounds like you didn't wash your sand throughly.
As you need to keep washing the sand in a bucket, until the silt has been removed, and you can put your hand in and move the sand, and when you stop the water clears straight away.

You will want to keep doing LARGE water changes about 50% a day until the water clears, as the silt and sand in the water will damage your filter's mechanics. :good:

guilty of not washing sand throughly...i admit that. will start on the water changes when i get home this eve!
