Hiya all :) i have a recent set up, 20 uk gal tank, (fully cycled using the fishless method) I have 4 Glowlight tetras, and will be adding more fish in the next few days. I really want to add a couple of corys' next but have been advised by my lfs that I should add them last. Would it course a problem for the corys' if i introduced them now? :/

I don't recall anything I've read saying that corys are particularly sensitive or need a mature tank. They should be fine.

They are sensitive to water quality, as long as the tank is cycled they should be fine.

Depends on what corys they are, I'd say. Bronze and peppereds are the hardiest ones, and can certainly go in a newly cycled tank; pandas are sentitive and may need a mature tank; the other commonly found corys seem to come somewhere in between.

Thanks, aye, I was thinking of getting the peppered variety

A lot of LFS people tend to think that corys require algae growth to survive... dont know what gave them that idea, they are bottom scavengers and providing you feed your fish there will always be bits of left over food that sink to the bottom to feed your corys, also you can get pellet forms for bottom feeders, i feed my corys pellet food and they love it... and just so you lot know my favourite type of cory is the sterbai corys :)
