I have three corys - bronze, albino and sterbai - in my 14 gallon tank. The tank also has:
7 neon tetras
1 ghost shrimp
1 female betta (+ 2 more soon)
2 african dwarf frogs
The corys are all healthy and growing well. I've had them since July.
I know they should be in larger groups. Would I be putting too much strain on the tank to get two more of each kind? I will not rehome them (and I know that will make me unpopular) as they are all healthy and eating well and none of them are skittish (a sign of a nervous or unhappy fish). They are beautiful, calm creatures who spend a lot of time in the open and are very well adjusted to the tank.
I would obviously like to give them a larger group if possible. I have two filters (an Interpet PF3 and a Fluval U2) so filtration isn't a problem and the tank is well planted but with plenty of open spaces to swim and forrage.
I have another 14 gallon tank I could move a group to but this has a male krib and a panchax in it and I worry about them being too aggressive.
