I have three corys - bronze, albino and sterbai - in my 14 gallon tank. The tank also has:

7 neon tetras
1 ghost shrimp
1 female betta (+ 2 more soon)
2 african dwarf frogs

The corys are all healthy and growing well. I've had them since July.

I know they should be in larger groups. Would I be putting too much strain on the tank to get two more of each kind? I will not rehome them (and I know that will make me unpopular) as they are all healthy and eating well and none of them are skittish (a sign of a nervous or unhappy fish). They are beautiful, calm creatures who spend a lot of time in the open and are very well adjusted to the tank.

I would obviously like to give them a larger group if possible. I have two filters (an Interpet PF3 and a Fluval U2) so filtration isn't a problem and the tank is well planted but with plenty of open spaces to swim and forrage.

I have another 14 gallon tank I could move a group to but this has a male krib and a panchax in it and I worry about them being too aggressive.

Don't get more bettas. You need 4 or more if you have just 3 one will get picked on really bad. This hapened to me. So get 2 more corys not bettas. I have been a betta keeper for 10 years and I find Cory cats to be way more fun. I had 6 female bettas in a 36 gal it was nothing but drama. I don't recomend it. But others would disagree. When I had my 6 girls I only saw 2 of them because the other hid from them.

Don't worry snowflake, I'm not going to just put the three in. I'm looking for two more at the moment. The other two have already been paid for - I'm just waiting for the weather to clear up so I can get them delivered. When the two new ones come they are being QTed until I'm happy they are healthy anyway.

My current girl is very good with other females. I have a big sorority at one point but unfortunately I got a disease in the tank and Aurora is the only one who survived.

It's a well planted tank and this helps spread the aggression. It also have two filters so I'm getting my girls sorted and then if I have space I'll get more corys. No problems with filtration, just space.
