I my friend just gave me a baby cory (have no idea what kind it is) that she could not take care of rather than let it die by her hand (cause she couldnt keep it) I placed it in my tank. However i really dont have any food for it. It has been seraching the bottom of my tank but i am not sure that it is getting anything. Does it eat all left over food, ect? My other fish seem to be always hungrey or they are just pigs.
I heard that corys will eat cucumbers but is not sure. I have one cucumber in my tank but she/he hasent seem to eat it yet but one neon tetra seems to be intersted in it. What should i feed my cory i do not want him or her to die. :dunno: Do they eat alge wafers?

Also on a side note i realize that i now have too many inches of fish for my 10 gallon tank but i couldnt let any of them die. How can i remedy this? More frequent water changes? change filter more regularly?

Corys prefer a more meaty diet. The cucumber is good for plecs, corys in general won't touch it.

Mine feed off of whatever flakes or brine shrimp float to the bottom of the tank, along with some sinking shrimp pellets. If you can find a sinking pellet with a higher percentage of protein that should work fine. Corys prefer to be in groups of at least 3, so if you could pick up a couple more that would be best. Corys are great bottom cleaners, they will make tank maintainance easier for you. Nearly all of my tanks have a group.

I would love to get another cory to keep him company but is not my tank already "over stocked". Right now it is a 10 gallon with 3 male guppies, 3 neons and 3 glowlights and now the one cory.
