Hi, I have 5 Corydoras (last 5 in shop) , they have been in my tank for about 4 weeks now. 2 of them are doing something strange , they lean on each other side by side , "shoulder to shoulder" it looks like they are trying to push each other sideways , they then tip back vertically head up and then swim backwards togther. Are they just shoaling or are they "getting friendly". They are only about anm inch long , if that. Any correspondace greatly appreciated.... :)

my corys were doing exactly the same a few weeks back, then last week after a water change, they started spawning,i saved 2 eggs which hatc yesterday :good:

Whether its connected i dont know :)

i dont think you will have C.Julii, theyre incredibly rare...you more than likely have C.trillineatus

spawning behavior normally consists of the male trying to tickle the females belly.

Cheers for the info , I just did a water change a few days ago, I topped up the rest of the tank tonight , usually have a basin of water from the day before to allow it to get to room temp, dechlorinator added at basin. I did motice the thermometer drop a couple of degrees after adding the water so maybe it treiggered some reaction, fingers crossed...... :good:
