From my googling I thnk C. Habrosus grows to less than an inch do you think I would get away with 8 in a 9.9 US gallon tank? With a few shrimp for algae control.. maybe Cherry or Yamato.

Hi Glod :)

You could easily keep 10 or more C. habrosus in a ten gallon tank. I don't know how well they will do with shrimp though.

If the tank has an algae problem, it would probably be best to clear that up before you add any of the corys. :D

Would you worry about the shrimps or the corys? I wouldn't have thought it would be too much of a problem either way.

I don't currently have an algae problem in the tank, I just like to watch shrimp and corydoras, lol. I find them fascinating. I assumed the corys wouldn't bother live shrimp, and I'm 90% sure the shrimp wouldn't bother the corys... Could be wrong of course. That is why I asked :)

The corys shouldn't bother the shrimp at all, but I understand that there are some shrimp that will attack small fish. As long as the shrimp you select are not likely to do this, you will be fine.

I like to watch shrimp too, but I don't know a lot about them. ;)

Ahh ok, I have amano shrimp in my community tank and they don't even bother the platy fry, they prefer to scavenge or eat algae. As far as I know cherry shrimp are the same type of thing. I'll make sure they don't have claws :)

I've got the same experience, they are really peaceful; cherry shrimps are quite a bit smaller, so I wouldn't trust them with anything in the least predatory- but of course that is hardly how you would describe corys :D
