Help, something is wrong with my bronze corydora, when i added him and his friend to the tank 3 weeks ago they were fine, swimming around all over the place acting like normal, but the past couple of days, the smaller one has started hiding behind the filter, sort of on top of the sucker pads and leaning against the glass, why is it doing this? I moved the filter and it swam out, stayed on the gravel for two mins then went back behind the filter in the same spot, so i left it for a while, came back an hour later and it was still there so once again i moved the filter and it swam out, but returned straight away??

What is your tank size, stocking, water parameters, decoration, planted/not? Did you cycle your tank?

Size of tank in gallons or litres.
How many fish and which type.
Water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.

Does he look bloated or thin.
Is he leaning to oneside.
is he paler or darker in colour.
Is he acting listless and lethagic.
Any red sores on his body or red streaking.
How do his barbals look.

What are your tank readings?
He could be hiding from another fish or another cory

PH - 7.2
Ammonia - 0.0
Nitrite - 0.0
Nitrate - <50ppm
Temperature - 25 celcius

Hmm there is a bigger cory than him but they've never bothered with each other before, he does have a slight split down his dorsal fin though which appeared last night.

Its a 64Litre tank
1 adult male guppy,
1 baby male guppy,
1 adult black molly,
1 adult platy,
6 cardinal tetras,
and my two corys.

normal size, hmm leaning as in leaning against the glass, but generally upright, normal colouring although the larger cory has always had red streaking under the bronze colouring on his sides (had it before i got him), when he swam out he was normal, not really lethergic, no sores or anything, and barbels on both are fine.

Does the cory lean oneside when its on the substrate.
Red streaking can be septicemia. Red patches beneath the skin can be h septicemia.

Septicemia

Symptoms:

Fish may have reddening at fin bases, blood streaks throughout the fins and body, small hemorrhages around the eyes. Dull listless behavior and lack of appetite may also be present.

Cause:

Systemic bacterial infection caused by various bacteria, including Aeromonas, Pseudomonas and Vibrio. The illness is often brought on by poor water quality or as a result of parasitic infestations or other infections. These bacteria enter the blood stream and circulate through the tissues causing inflammation and damage. Inflamed blood vessels in the skin and at fin bases stand out. Blood vessel and heart tissue damage cause hemorrhaging and consequently leakage of body fluids into the abdomen, which may lead to Dropsy.

Treatment:

Water conditions must be improved for all fish in the tank, regardless of how many fish are infected. Check your water’s Treat with Kanacyn or Tetracycline as well as with a medicated food if the fish will eat. If parasites are suspected, all the fish in the tank should be treated with antiparasitic medication. Using salt to help restore osmotic balance might be helpful.

no definately not that, the one that is behind the filter is normal colouring, but the bigger one with the red marking, doesnt move much in the day but is very lively at night and the red is only on the body and not on the fins around the eyes etc. water is fine

Ammonia 0.0

Red on body can be septicemia aswell.

Can you issolate the two corys and try a bacterial med.
