cory

Questionable. I personally don't think they're hardy enough but others may differ with me. Why put any fish through the rigmarole of cycling. IMO it's much better to cycle WITHOUT fish, and it's more effective if you use ammonia. You can then fill your tank with all the fishies you want (providing that you have the room for them)

i really dont think you would be doing yourself or the cory any favours by using it to cycle.i was always advised by my fish store to wait until the tank was matured, anyway why would you need a scavenger?,you wouldn't have that many fish during cycling to need one.if you dont want to use something suitable for cycling like mollies or danios it would be kinder to go the fishless cycle route. pebbles

My albino cories have been the hardiest fish I have ever owned. (knock on wood)

The three cories I initially bought about 3 years ago and used to cycle my 40G tank are still alive (as well as one swordtail). They have always been healthy and have produced quite a number of offspring and still lay eggs constantly.

I personally wouldn't use a cory for cycling. True they are very hardy little fish but they also produce more toxins than others.
