i've had this cory for a good few months now, he came to me in this condition, he actually has no fins  he seems to get around fine and stays in the areas where there isn't much water movement (tryed to make a few about the tank)

it is very hard to see what i mean in the pictures, but he won't come near the front

this one shows it quite well

all other tank mates including several cories are fine, he is healthy apart from this

just wondered if anyone had experienced this before to know what to expect with him really, obviously i don't want him to suffer, he does have the odd bad day where he can't keep his balance

Sure. I've already had imported Corys arrive in that condition. As long as you are able to observe that it is able to compete successfully for food and that there is adequate cover for it to hide under when feeling threatened, there is no reason that it can not live a normal life span.

I'm assuming that this is old damage and there is no active infection, of course.

Cheers. - Frank

well that is such a reliefe, i have grown quite fond of him, glad to know that he should have a reasonably normal life too :good:

thanks Frank

i had a lobster bite off the tail of my cory... actually looked like yours, tail grew back in about 1 month

Aww, poor cory. I actually have a Loach with no tail, I've had him for a long time though with no problems, I just treat him the same as I would with others :good:

I have a tri cory with hardly any tail,he was born that way,7 months old and holding his own :good:

If its getting around and eating it should be fine :)

He is doing very well, since i added 3 Sterbai he has perked up loads and is happily swimming around with the group, managed to get a clear photo of him
