Cory Trilinatus Behaviour?

I have recently added 5 cory trilinatus to my tank and assumed they may take some time to settle in. It has been nearly 2 weeks now and they are still incredibly scared.
They hide constantly under some wood and very rarely venture out into the open. Is this normal? Are they a shy fish?

if they have cover they will take it in my experience, like most fish, you may find they are far more nocturnal than you thought ... busybees once it gets dark!
