Long story short i have 6 corys, one very young bronze (or possibly venezuelan, hard to tell. doest have the orange), one albino, one trili, and 3 peppered. I wanted to see what type of corys i could mix and who would school with who.

The peppered and trili are great togeter. They swim and sleep together. It is cool to watch. The peppered are very friendly and want to hang out with all of the corys. The albino wants nothing to do with them and neither does the bronze. The bronze and the albino dont want anything to do with each other either. I am thinking of getting rid of them both and picking up some more peppered. I would like to exchange them for some more trili, but they are impossible to find. Just thought i would share that with you guys since i see a lot of questions about mixing corys.

Hi Stoty :)

Thanks for posting you interesting observations. I enjoy reading this.

For some reason that nobody seems to understand, lfs like to mislabel C. trilineatus as C. julii. Take a look when you see them. You might be pleasantly surprised.

Your bronze is most likely just that. C. venezuelanus are not often found in the lfs these days. If you get them, it will usually be from a breeder. While I've seen pics of C. venezuelanus with a deeper shade of orange, I have ones that are pale.

timestamp is wrong. i just snapped it. cant get a pic of the bronze. he moves too much and too fast.

i would think the bronze and the albino would swim together since they are the same species. I guess the peppered and the trili are more similar to themselves than to the others. (both grow to a similar size and the coloring is similar in a way). The bronze and albino will grow bigger. I wish i had more access to diff cory species. the only ones i can find in my area are the bronze, green, albino, peppered, and a couple of the bigger species.
