Cory melanistus

I went to the LFS last week in search of cories to add to my tank, they had a nice selection, and I came away with two julii and two melanistus. Never seen the melanistus before - they looked pretty enough in the shop, but after a day or two they've both developed a lovely orangey marking behind the head. I found some pics on the net that show them with this as well. Also they have huge barbels! Anyone kept these fish before?

All four cories are playing happily together, sometimes in their pairs, sometimes one of each together, sometimes all of them careering around in a group

I have C. melanistius too.

They are indeed lovely fish and they are little trouble to care for. I've always been very pleased with mine and wonder why such fine fish are not more popular than they seem to be.
