got a few corys today can anybody tell me what sort they are?

Looking at the dark patch near the eye I would say the first one is Corydoras Rabauti.

THe second one is Corydoras Aeneus, Bronze Cory.

I'll second Mad Duff, No.1 is Cory rabauti, No.2 is Cory aeneus.

Just looking at the photo's, what are the barbles like on these fish, they look to be non existent on No. 2????

IMHO, they are both C. aeneus, bronze corys. But sylvia is right. The picture shows a cory with strange looking barbels. I hope it's just the way the picture was taken, but if it's not, you might have a sick corys there.

The barbels are sensory organs that they use to search for their food. If they are very short, it could indicate that it had a major bacterial infection at some time in its life. Both corys look fine otherwise, so I suggest that you just pay special attention to him until you know for sure. If it can find and eat its food, you have nothing to worry about. :D
