Well I've been busy swapping over from my small 30 litre tank to my 180 litre tank. My two sterbai corys are the only fish left in the 30 litre tank as they have been quite challenging to catch in a small planted tank. Today I checked up on them and noticed I have eggs! I have no idea what to do about it, but as I was about to buy some more corys, I'm quite pleased.

Advice from cory enthusiasts would be greatly appreciated as I'd love to have a few survive.

Cheers in advance, Andy

Remove eggs carefully and put in a net or fry tank. I add some m.blue to the water to help with fungus control. Water change every day, about 50% if in a fry tank and keep a fine air stone near eggs too. 3-6 days to hatch.

Congratulations on the new additions .

How do you remove the eggs from the glass?

My peppers are always leaving eggs on my glass and I tried to scrape them off(about 20 eggs) with a small butter knife and catch them with a spoon and I put them in a floating fry net. Only one hatched. How can I increase my spawning rate?

I spoke with my LFS guys today and they seemed to think removing eggs would be risky as they're obviously fragile. I've opted to only remove the eggs on leaves by cutting the leaf.

U can use your finger if you are gentle, or a credit card edge is good too. Mine tend to lay a few hundred at a time so im a little more brutal with them and just "go for it".

I leave them in a net in my main tank. i dont add anything to the water, i've never had fungus. But i do remove the white eggs which are infertile as soon as i see them. wait 5 days and ta daa....fry. i then feed them hakari first bites for a few weeks then move up to a bigger powder. I tend not to go bananas and buy all sorts of live foods, i really cant be bothered.

I remove the eggs on the glass by putting "CLEAN" fingure on them and rolling them off. They are sticky so stick to my fingure.

Then move to net/tank.

Not as fragile as you may think, as long as you dont move them within an hour of being layed.

i had my first batch of cory eggs on friday, i removed them from the tank as they were getting scoffed by other fish and kept them in a net in main tank. most of them were under the frame and i couldnt see them so they were infected with fungus :( out of 40 eggs i hatched 3 :( pretty bad for a first try

get a bottle of Methylene Blue from your LFS. Very good for controlling fungal problems.
