ok so I was feeding my tank - and i noticed all of these REALLY tiny clusters of spheres - - white in color and slightly wobbling in the current - - are these cory eggs? i have 7 albinos in the tank but have never seen any spawning behavior - - what do I do?

do I collect the eggs? if so, how do I remove them from the glass with out killing them?
I have plenty of spare small tanks for raising guppy fry that I can put the eggs into -
what temperature does the tank need to be maintained at? since I do not know when they were laid, I am going to assume sometime since thursday when I did a water change because I wipe down at least the front side of the tank during every water change and thats where I noticed the clumps...

ok so....help! lol...I am ecstatic if they spawned - but it was a complete shock to find eggs!

any and all advise would be greatly appreciated!!!!

my cameras batteries are dead (ofcourse) and between me and my scatter brained boyfriend I can not find the charger - and I tried taking a picture with my cell phone but the quality is too poor - you can't see the eggs at all!

sure does sound like cory eggs to me. they normally scatter them all around the tank on plants or the glass so look closer in other spots and you may find more :good: its best to remove the eggs not long after they are laid as they are still sticky and can be rolled off using your finger if you are carefull.....
if moving the eggs to another tank then use water from the tank they were laid in to fill the new home and set the temp to the same. then add an air stone close to the eggs to keep water circulating around them to hopefully prevent them getting fungus attacks (white fur like stuff covering the eggs). the eggs should hatch anytime after 3 days and the fry will be tiny, remove any hatched aggs and any fungused eggs asap. if the eggs stay white then they are not fertile, they will go a creamy/beige colour if they are to hatch.
good luck with them and if these dont make it now they have spawned they are sure to do it again :good:

there are about 7 little clusters - looks like anywhere from 10-20 eggs in each - is it possible that more than one pair spawned? it seems like so many eggs - - looking at pictures online, they look exceptionally tiny.... pretty much about the size of a period - - ???

:eek::blink::crazy::-(????

reading some other posts - - I tried to gently scrape them off the side with a credit card, but when I lifted the card away from the glass....they all fell off and either floated away or fell to the gravel!

eeeeeeek - - I have left the remaining ones alone now...what do i do?!

(see! this is why I breed livebearers and one day hopefully my ACF - -with livebearers you can chase the fry and catch them, and with acf the eggs are MUCH bigger and easier to handle!!! lol)

I think i feel some gray hairs coming on - I can't stop looking at the tank! but should they really be so TINY??? i thought they would be a bit bigger

Try holding a net underneath to catch any that fall away. Works for me. Good luck.

Hi Jenste :)

If they are cory eggs they will look like this:

http://s4.photobucket.com/albums/y129/MsInchworm/TFF%20Keep/Black%20Corys%20Oct%20Spawn/Oct%2025%202007%20spawn/?action=view&current=EggsLeftfront.jpg

When they are first placed on the glass, they are very soft and sticky. If you move them then, the chances are good that they will break. Over the next few hours they firm up and, while they remain sticky, they can easily be rolled off onto your finger and then stuck onto another surface. After a while they become quite firm and lose their adhesiveness. While they will continue to stick to the original surface they will no longer stick to another. It is at this point that it becomes difficult to move them because they tend to drop to the ground.

I hope you can remove at least some of the eggs successfully. If you cannot save them, the good news is that you now know that you have a group of mature corys who will spawn for you. Feed them will and soon you will see another batch of eggs. The next time you will be prepared and will catch them at an earlier stage. :)
